Idalia Updates

8/30/2023 11:19am

Dear Parents,

We hope this finds you safe and well. We realize that the entire area is still facing flooding concerns through high tide today.  Mr. Bustle was able to check on the school campus and everything seems to be fine and we still have power.

We have decided that due to breakfast and lunch considerations, we will follow the recommendation of Manatee County Schools regarding school operations tomorrow (8/31).

From our understanding, they will be making a decision after 5pm today. We will send you all their recommendation as soon as we know.

Continue to be safe!

Dear Parents,

We have received word from the Manatee County School District that all public schools will be closed tomorrow, 8/29 and Wednesday, 8/30. We are following their recommendation and be closed as well.

Please note, if the storm has passed and all is well on Thursday, WE MAY RE-OPEN. Often times Manatee County Schools serve as shelters and remain closed to accommodate those that need it. If all is well with our facilities then we may possibly re-open. We will email and text parents and update our website accordingly.

Please note, all afternoon activities are cancelled beginning this afternoon (8/28) through Wednesday (8/30) afternoon as well.

Stay safe!

Dear Parents,

As Tropical Storm Idalia approaches the Florida coast we are monitoring it closely. We will follow the recommendation of the School Board of Manatee County regarding school closures.

Important! Sometimes after a storm passess, Manatee County schools remain closed due to their facilities being used as shelters. If our facilities have electricity and no damage we may re-open. Permitting availablility to do so, we will update our website with information regarding reopening, etc.

Stay tuned to your local news stations and we will update you as well.

Sincerely,
PCS Administration
